Welcome to the 2006 Christmas in Dublin web site.
Over the next few weeks, these pages will fill with the sights
and sounds that are unique to Ireland at Christmas time.
Of course, there are as many ways to celebrate the grand event as there are stories told in an Irish pub.

Ireland is one of the few places on earth where the meaning of Christmas is still remembered & the birth of the Christ child is celebrated.

Ancient Text found in Irish Bog
-July 2006
The ancient book of psalms spotted by a  backhoe driver has been dated to between 800 and 1000 AD.
According to Mr. Bernard Meehan who is the manuscripts expert for Trinity College, it is the first discovery of an Irish early medieval document in over two hundred years. Never before has such a fragile, old document been discovered buried in the soggy earth of Ireland.
